They built a wind tunnel in their bicycle shop in Dayton, Ohio. A simple fan pushed air through a long, wooden box. And over the course of a year, the brothers tested more than 100 models. They tested bi-wing and tri-wing designs. And they collected the most detailed data on aircraft wings ever previously compiled.
Then they built a glider based on their test findings, went to Kitty Hawk, and the rest is history.
